Four Quebec scientists recognized by Senator Rosa Galvez

Ottawa, June 22, 2018 – Last week, on Friday, June 15, 2018, Senator Rosa Galvez (Quebec – Bedford) awarded four Quebec scientists the Senate 150 Medal in a ceremony at the Senate of Canada. The Senate 150 Medals are awarded by Senators to Canadians whose generosity, dedication, volunteerism and hard work make their communities a better place.

The four scientists recognized by Senator Galvez are Dr. Jacques Corbeil (Quebec, Qc), Dr. Jean-Marie Konrad (Quebec, Qc), Dr. Jacques Locat (Quebec, Qc) and Dr. Normand Mousseau (Montreal, Qc). In their work, these scientists have advanced science and innovation in Quebec, in Canada and on the world stage. They have excelled in the fields of engineering, geology, biophysics, nanoscience and genomics.

As an environmental engineer, Senator Galvez hopes to recognize the important work of scientists across the country, and to bring science into the decision-making process in the Senate of Canada.
